Travis County Storm Debris Removal
NOTICE TO ALL SHADY HOLLOW RESIDENTS
TRAVIS County Storm Debris Pick-Up for Shady Hollow
Last week Commissioner Gerald Daugherty and his Executive Assistant, Bob Moore, visited Shady Hollow to assess the damage and debris caused by the recent storm activity.
Commissioner Daugherty spoke up for Shady Hollow during the June 2 Commissioners Court Meeting and it was agreed that the County will send crews out on
MONDAY, June 8
to remove the storm debris that still clutters Shady Hollow’s thoroughfares.
On Tuesday, Mr. Moore and our General Manager drove through Shady Hollow and notated the addresses that still had piles of debris out front. County crews will ONLY be removing vegetation debris from the homes on this list. They are not responsible for trimming or cutting trees.

Storm Damage Clean-Up
NOTICE TO ALL SHADY HOLLOW RESIDENTS
STORM DAMAGE CLEAN-UP
Some of our members have suffered significant property damage in the wake of the recent storms. Many of us have been touched by the efforts and kindness of neighbors both known and unknown during these days of clean-up and restoration. Shady Hollow residents have shown that this is indeed, a great place to call home.
This being said, after a conversation with Commissioner Daugherty’s Office, the SHHOA Office must alert its members to four important facts:
1. It is the homeowners’ responsibility to remove the brush and debris from their properties.
2. Any brush placed in the roadway presents an endangerment to the safety of the driving public and can be considered illegal dumping.
3. Unless the governor declares a state of disaster for our area, the County does not have the authority to remove storm debris from the properties of private citizens.
4. While the County was here yesterday and are here today to pick up brush – they are only authorized to pick up the resulting brush from trees that they cut themselves.
We urge you to arrange to have your debris removed from the roadways as quickly as possible and ultimately hauled off and dumped for the safety of everyone here in Shady Hollow. Thank you.

Golf Carts on Public Roadways
According to Texas Transportation Code, Section 551.403, an operator of a golf cart can do so in any one of the following ways:
In a master planned community that has in place a uniform set of restrictive covenants and has an approved plat from the county or municipality (Shady Hollow HOA is NOT a master planned community) OR
On a beach OR
On a public road with a speed limit of not more than 35mph AND operating only during the daytime AND not more than 2 miles from the location where the golf cart is usually parked AND is going to or from a golf course.
Unless #1 applies to your neighborhood or your golf cart has a VIN and is a regularly registered vehicle (like your car), driving a golf cart on the streets is illegal.
